JUNIOR CAN-AM CUP FINISH CLARIFICATION

The Junior Ski Can-Am Cup race was a great race and had the closest finish in Can-Am Cup history. There have been several stories as to what happened during the finish of the race and the APBA feels it is important that the facts of the finish of the race be clarified.

The facts of the Junior Can-Am Cup race was that flag person, who was in the best position to make the call, made the call, and it was backed up by another scorer that John Bryant was the winner of the race (by a few feet) over Josh Block. Never did any official in the scoring area ever say that Josh Block was the winner of the race or was a decision changed. The announcer, from his position a couple hundred feet before the finish line did call the race for Josh Block, but all officials in the position to make the call called the race for John Bryant. The APBA backs these officials 100 % and know that they would never make any call except the one that was correct one. The call is even further backed up to be the correct call by the television crew which reviewed the tape of the camera that was positioned right at the finish line. Congratulations to both John Bryant and Josh Block for a great race and the closest finish in Can-Am Cup history!
