APBA MAKES MEMBERSHIP EXPIRATION CHANGE

Update on the New Membership Renewal

The APBA recently announced that all NEW APBA Personal Watercraft Racing (PWR) memberships will now expire on October 31 of each year, to be consistent with all other APBA categories, and solves several administrative, insurance and onsite registration issues. To help ease this transition we have come up with a few ways to help the APBA PWR member. For those members that have current expiration dates in July and August, the APBA will cut the cost of a single event membership in halfd from $20 to $10. In addition, those racers that renew their memberships in September will receive a 14 month membership with an expiration date of October 31 the following year. Many racers renew at the APBA Watercross Nationals and with this new policy the racers membership will extend all the way past the World Finals of the following year. We appreciate your support on this important transition.

Beginning November 1, 2008, the APBA will be making a change on the expiration dates of its Personal Watercraft Racing (PWR) competition memberships. Beginning November 1 all NEW APBA PWR memberships will expire on October 31 of each year no matter when you sign up. This will make the APBA Personal Watercraft Racing division consistent with the other 13 categories of APBA racing. All other APBA divisions expire on October 31 of each year.

This will solve many membership related problems including participants racing without valid memberships (therefore not receiving participant accident coverage), promoters having to check dates on cards since there are different color membership cards, members not receiving rulebooks until they renew there memberships which may be very late in the season, members not receiving their magazines as their membership has expired, long registration lines at events, etc. In the future all members will be sent a renewal notice in October. 

Those members renewing their memberships in October will receive a 13 month membership. The APBA will honor the expiration dates on all current memberships and racers will continue to have the option of purchasing a single event membership at events.
